Safety Tips
For details on Dates and Honey’s security practices or guidelines on responsible disclosure, please visit our Security Page.
Connecting with new people can be exciting, but it’s important to stay cautious when interacting with someone for the first time. Always prioritize your safety, whether you're chatting online or planning to meet in person. While you can’t control others’ actions, taking the right precautions can help ensure a safer and more enjoyable experience on Dates and Honey.
Extra Safety Advise
We highly recommend using Noonlight or similar safety apps to enhance your security when meeting someone new. While Dates and Honey is not directly partnered with Noonlight, we encourage our users to take proactive steps for their safety. Apps like Noonlight allow you to log date details, share your location with trusted contacts, and discreetly contact emergency services if needed—24/7. Prioritizing your safety ensures a more secure and enjoyable dating experience.
Protecting Yourself Online
Don't Send Money or Share Banking Details
Never send money to anyone, especially through wire transfers, even if they claim to be in an emergency. Once sent, these transactions are nearly impossible to trace or recover. Protect your financial security by never sharing account details or sensitive banking information. If someone requests money, report them to us immediately.

Staying Safe on Dates and Honey
Keep Your Personal Information Private
Never share sensitive details like your home or work address, Social Security number, or daily routine (e.g., your regular gym schedule) with someone you just met. If you’re a parent, be mindful of the information you share about your children—avoid mentioning their names, school locations, ages, or genders in early conversations.
Stay on the Platform
For your safety, keep your conversations on Dates and Honey while getting to know someone. Moving too quickly to texting, messaging apps, or phone calls can be a tactic used by scammers. Our platform includes built-in safety features to help protect you, so be cautious if someone tries to move the conversation off the app too soon.
Be Cautious with Long-Distance Connections
Watch out for people claiming to be from your area but saying they’re "stuck abroad" and need financial help to return home. Be wary of anyone who refuses video calls or avoids meeting in person—they may not be who they claim to be. If someone pushes for a serious relationship without truly getting to know you, that’s a major red flag.
Report Suspicious or Harmful Behavior
If someone makes you feel uncomfortable or violates our terms, please report them immediately. Blocking and reporting helps keep Dates and Honey a safe place for everyone. Examples of behavior that should be reported include:
-
Requests for money or financial assistance
-
Underage users
-
Harassment, threats, or offensive messages
-
Inappropriate behavior during or after a date
-
Fake or misleading profiles
-
Spam or solicitation, including attempts to sell services or direct users to external websites
You can report a user directly from their profile or chat window, or reach out to our safety team at safety@datesandhoney.com. For further guidance, check out our Community Guidelines.
Secure Your Account
Choose a strong password and be cautious when logging in from public or shared devices. Dates and Honey will never ask for your password via email or request account details. If you receive an email claiming to be from us and asking for your login information, report it immediately.
Contacting Dates and Honey Support
Our support team will never ask for your password, request you to share your screen, or require payment for customer support. If you need assistance, contact us at support@datesandhoney.com. Be wary of phone numbers found through search engines—Dates and Honey does not provide general support over the phone. Scammers may attempt to pose as customer service, so always verify you're contacting us through official channels.
Meeting in Person...
Take Your Time
Don’t rush into meeting someone. Get to know them first and look for any red flags or dealbreakers. Use FaceTime, or Skype for a video chat before meeting. Keep in mind scams and technology is always evolving so stay up to date and be careful. Go with your insticts these steps may reduce your chances of staying out of harms way but nothing is 100%
Meet & Stay in Public
Choose a busy, public location for the first few meetings—never a private residence. If your date insists on going somewhere private, end the date.
Keep Someone Informed
Share your plans with a friend or family member, including the location and time. Keep your phone charged and accessible.
Control Your Own Transportation
Arrange your own ride so you can leave anytime. If driving, have a backup plan like a rideshare app or a friend on standby.
Be Mindful of Substances
Know your alcohol and drug limits—impaired judgment can put you at risk. If pressured to drink more or take substances, stand firm and leave.
Protect Your Drinks & Belongings
Only accept drinks directly from a bartender or server, and never leave them unattended. Keep your phone, wallet, and personal items with you at all times.
Trust Your Instincts & Leave If Needed
If you feel uncomfortable, it’s okay to walk away. Your safety comes first. If you need help, ask a bartender or staff member for assistance.
Sexual Health & Consent
Protect Yourself
Using condoms correctly and consistently can greatly reduce the risk of contracting and spreading STIs, including HIV. However, some STIs, such as herpes and HPV, can be transmitted through skin-to-skin contact. Vaccination is an effective way to lower the risk of certain STIs.
Know Your Status
STIs don’t always show symptoms, so it’s important to stay informed about your health. Regular testing helps prevent the spread of infections and keeps you in control of your well-being. Click here to find a nearby clinic for testing (US only).
Talk About It
Open communication is key. Before engaging in physical intimacy, discuss sexual health and STI testing with your partner. In some places, knowingly transmitting an STI is a legal offense. Not sure how to start the conversation? Click Here for some helpful tips.
Consent
Consent is essential for all sexual activity and should be reaffirmed throughout the experience. Clear verbal communication helps ensure that both partners feel respected and comfortable. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and no one is ever obligated to engage in sex. If your partner seems unsure, uncomfortable, or is unable to consent due to drugs or alcohol, do not proceed. Learn more about consent here.
For Advice, Help, Or Support
If you are in immediate danger or require emergency assistance, dial 911 (in the U.S. or Canada) or contact your local law enforcement agency.
